Hannelore Uhrmacher Make Up Design
A learnt hairdresser, Hannelore Uhrmacher completed her training as a makeup artist at the Theater an der Wien and, after working for several years in advertising, she moved on to film industry in 1975. She has collaborated, among others, with Wim Wenders (Regel ohne Ausnahme), Karin Brandauer (Der Weg ins Freie), Axel Corti (Maria Theresia, Die Herrenjahre), Marvin Chomsky (Katharina die Große), Peter Patzak (Camillo Castiglioni), John Malkovich (Klimt), and Robert Dornhelm (La Bohème starring Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazón).
Additionally she has been in charge of the make-up design for a number of TV series, including Kaisermühlen Blues and 4 Frauen und ein Todesfall.
Besides her substantial contribution to cinema and TV, Hannelore Uhrmacher has been working for numerous theater productions, including her designs for the Volkstheater in Vienna and productions such as My Fair Lady at the Deutsche Theater in Munich and Das Spiel vom lieben Augustin at the Etablissement Ronacher. She was Make-Up/Wig Supervisor for We Will Rock You in Cologne, Zurich, Vienna, Stuttgart and Berlin, as well as for the critically acclaimed cult hit Rocky Horror Show and the German original production of Hairspray at Cologne’s Musical Dome. Hannelore Uhrmacher is delighted to be rejoining the team of the original West Side Story.
